Thursday Thirteen #2

Here's my second Thursday Thirteen! This week it's 13 places that I've visited or lived. I didn't count any in my home state of California and there are many others I've left off the list. Enjoy!

Thirteen Places I've Visited or Lived

1. Guthrie, Oklahoma where my dad grew up.
2. Paris, France with my high school show choir in 1994; we also went to EuroDisney!
3. Dallas, Texas for 8 months while working for Verizon from June 1998 to February 1999.
4. Oahu, Hawaii twice: once when I was 6 and again in 2000 for work. I climbed Diamond Head both times!
5. Switzerland on a family vacation in 2003
6. Belgium with my high school show choir in 1994
7. The Netherlands with my high school show choir in 1994. I love wooden shoes!
8. Irapuato, Mexico as an exchange student with the sister city program when I was 16.
9. Sylva, North Carolina for 2 weeks for work in 2000, but had some free time to explore!
10. Seattle, Washington for one week for work in 2003, but again, I had some time to explore.
11. Rochester, Minnesota for the AAU Junior Olympics as a discus thrower when I was 16.
12. Syracuse, New York where my sister went to college.
13. Costa Rica on a trip with the Stanford Alumni Association in 2003.

I've been to a few of the same places as you. I'd like to re-visit them though as well as explore many new places. :)

I almost did a similar TT. I decided to save it for a time when I have problems thinking up a list.lol

Thanks for the comments everyone! I've definitely been lucky to travel so much. There are quite a few places I left of the list. And like Erin, I'd love to go back to most of the places. I especially want to go to the Matterhorn in Switzerland one day. Of course I want to see new places as well. I love to travel and explore new places:)

And sparky, I was very lucky to get to travel while at Verizon. We had some system conversions in the department I worked in at the time. They happened at different times in different parts of the country and we traveled to help out the local areas. Since we were there for 2 weeks, we got the weekends free to explore the area! I was also able to stay an extra few days in Hawaii after the official business was over. It was nice to have a mini-vacation without having to pay for the flight over and back:)

I was struck by the fact that I've never heard of Sylva, NC and yet I lived for years in NC. I'm guessing it was in the mountains---I lived "down east."

Mailyn, Paris was cool! We didn't have too much time to explore on our own since I went with a school group, but we did have one free day. One thing I learned though is not to walk from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre. Judging distances from the top of the Eiffel Tower is really not a good idea.

And damozel, Sylva is in the western part of NC out toward the mountains. It's a pretty small town, so I'm not surprised you hadn't heard of it!
