Stormy Skies...

Here are some more pictures I've taken in the last couple of weeks. We had a couple storms move through so the cloudy skies made for some nice photos:)

I'm finally getting around to posting some photos I took a couple of weeks ago! These are pictures I finally stopped to take one day. I drive up this hill pretty much daily and kept saying one day I needed to stop and take some photos. I used to walk up and down it on my way to elementary school every day.

Anyway, I noticed this plant (I think it is an aloe plant) that is similar to one I posted photos of earlier. The color and texture is a bit different though and it intrigued me. It was a bit bright so there are some shadows. I also posted a few photos looking across the street from where I parked.

I have some more photos to post later as well. I hope everyone is doing well!

Hiny Hiders! What the heck is Hiny Hiders, you ask? The logo/name I noticed yesterday on the bathroom door at San Diego State in the building where my office is located LOL!

I'm not sure what made me notice the little logo on the bathroom door, but once I did, I found myself looking for it in other bathrooms. I noticed it today at another school where I teach. And the logo itself is cute! The H is a door stall shaped like an "H."

I couldn't find an exact replica, but I the below is from a document on the company's website.


They even have clothing with the logo on it, including athletic shorts with the words "Hiny Hiders" across the back LOL!

Anyway, sorry that it's been ages since I've blogged. I've wanted to blog for a while, but I haven't had much time. I have some photos to post, but I don't have the energy tonight. I'll try to post some before the end of the weekend. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by and left messages:)

Craziness Continues...

Whew! It's been another crazy week. My second teaching job started at San Diego State and I've barely had time to sleep let alone do much online. And I am also taking an online class on how to teach online classes LOL! Anyway, I've taken a few photos this last week and a half, but haven't had too much time to go through many of them.

I'm posting a few that I took last week at dusk. The moon and sky really caught my attention and I broke out the make-shift tripod (aka the ladder). I was having a hard time getting the camera to stay stable, so most shots came out a little blurry, but here are a few. The moon is more like a tiny spec, though. And I "photoshopped" the moon out of the last shot. I'm also including a random shot of Sophie:)

My Life as a Teacher Begins...

I finished my first week of teaching! I've learned a lot, especially that lecturing at 7am is going to be interesting. I really need to think of more group activities to do, but packing in all the material is almost impossible. It will definitely be a challenge!

Next week I start at San Diego State. The pace is even quicker there and I may have more students who "hate" math. Hopefully I can get through to some of them.

Anyway, I am including a couple of pictures I took last week on an overcast morning when I was at the community college where I teach. They recently built a new building to house the library and learning resource center, and I thought the art on the side was pretty cool. The campus is pretty nice, so I'll probably be taking more photos of campus in the coming months!

Here is the side of the building from a distance. With all the trees and such, I couldn't get a great shot of the whole thing.


If you pan to the left of the above photo, there is this, um, I'm not sure what to call it... It's a tall slab of concrete with the picture carved in it separate from the building itself. It's a bit hard to get it all in at a reasonable angle.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I just wanted to post very briefly to say I'm still alive but insanely busy! I'm trying to catch up on emails, visiting blogs, and everything else. Posts may be scarce in the next couple of weeks until I get more settled in to my teaching schedule. I can't believe classes start on Tuesday!
